Announcing the QuickPrints Developer Contest Winners!

Mon, 12/02/2013 - 22:25 - Drew Schweinfurth

Back in July of this year, we launched a developer contest geared around promoting integrations of our newest creative photo products with the QuickPrints API.  The contest was scheduled to run over a period of months in order to give developers ample time to work on not only the integration of our API, but also the overall user experience which would optimize the ability to put together a creative photo product on a mobile device.

The Walgreens API team was very impressed with all of the applications that were developed during the course of the contest and hope that many of those applications continue to be worked on and eventually join our family of live QuickPrints integrations.  That being said, we did decide on the winners of our contest and are excited to let everyone check them out today.

The winners of our Fall 2013 QuickPrints Developer Contest are Moments and tapsBook!  Each team will earn the $2,000 prize which assocaited with our contest.  Moments and tapsBook are both free applications for the iPad which are currently available Apple App Store.  Both apps allow for the creation of custom photo books to be printed with same day pickup to over 4,000 Walgreens locations across the US.

You can read more about both applications on our Integration Showcase blog and download them directly at the App Store links below.  Please help me in congratulating the teams from both Moments and tapsBook on their contest win and check out their apps today!

It's Alive! The QuickPrints SDK for Windows 8

Tue, 11/19/2013 - 23:21 - Drew Schweinfurth

The Walgreens Developer Program team is very proud to unveil our brand new QuickPrints SDKs for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.  These new SDKs were announced at the Microsoft BUILD Conference earlier this year and we have been working feverishly to get it ready for primetime.

If you are interested in integrating QuickPrints into your Windows desktop, tablet or mobile application, now is the time!  You can review our SDK documentation, download a sample application and learn more about this new platform offering on our QuickPrints SDK for Windows 8 landing page.

We are also excited to announce the first live integrations the QuickPrints SDK for Windows 8 within the Printicular and Order Prints applications.  These new SDK integrations join Kicksend, Pic Stitch, Pic Stitch for WP8 and LifePics who had previously integrated the QuickPrints API into their Windows 8 applications.

If you have any questions on concerns on these updates, please drop us a line at devportal@walgreens.com.

Happy Hacking!
