It's that time of year again where we like to reach out to our awesome community of developer to gather feedback on our API Program.

In the interest of improving our program we want to gather your feedback about our API Program and API product catalog. It only takes about 5 minutes to fill out and massively affects how we set our roadmap for the next year. You can access the survey here:

Revenue Share Update

Mon, 10/01/2018 - 16:19 - Drew Schweinfurth

Hello, we have an important update for the API program and wanted to let everyone know about them beyond just a mass email:

Migration of Revenue Share Portal:
If you have been connected with us for a while you are well aware of the wagapireports.com portal for viewing your revenue share. As we strive to enhance our revenue share line(s) of business under our API portfolio our next step is to migrate our partners to Commission Junctions full platform. If you created your PublisherID on wagapireports.com for photo revenue share you will need to follow the steps below:

Three key benefits to you in doing so:
  • Opens up your revenue opportunities and scalability
  • Reporting, management and optimization tools provide a robust experience that allow more control
  • Benefits of the network effect will grow your Business exponentially

Two key events to anticipate:
  • Update your app's PID
  • One month’s payment may be delayed depending on when you update your PID

That being said, we ask you to:
  1. Register for the new portal here: https://signup.cj.com/member/signup/publisher/?cid=3655651
  2. Once registered you will need to go to the menu: Account >> Websites
  3. Create a new website by providing a Name, and URL, Category, and Description.
  4. Once added you will see a number on-top of the words “Active” that is your new PublisherID

Your new PublisherID will need to be incorporated into all your apps in a new build. We’ll help provide any testing or validation services that need to be conducted to ensure continuity. We’d be more than happy to jump on a call to discuss in more detail, simply let us know.

We plan to decommission the old portal and any old publisherID’s by: January 1st, 2019 giving you about 3 months to migrate over to a new publisherID. If you do not migrate over to a new publisherID by 1/1/2019 you app will no longer be receiving revenue share for any orders you create. Also, if you have already migrated over to Commission Junctions full platform you can ignore this update.

Thank You,
Walgreens API Team

Happy Holidays, we have some news!

Mon, 12/11/2017 - 16:31 - Drew Schweinfurth

The Walgreens API Team has been hard at work as we approach the holiday to get some very exciting news launched on our developer portal. We wanted to give you all a few updates to our API platform.

We are extremely happy to let everyone know about the awesome feature enhancements and new APIs that we are rolling out by the end of this January 2018:

Photo Prints HTML Checkout:

We have been working diligently on some backend upgrades to our HTML Checkout Photo Prints API. Keep looking for these changes as we have more news coming over the next month. We have converted over to a NodeJS backend which should provide for a faster loading and snappier mobile web page experience.

Store Locator API:

Last year we announced the Beta Store Locator API. We are overjoyed to see all the people that have started/finished integration of this API their application(s). We got feedback that you wanted a way to get all the store numbers for all the Walgreens stores. Well, we listened and you can now use the Store Number List Endpoint to get this data.

Add To Cart API: (beta)

We are also excited to give access for everyone to create Walgreens.com Carts in their applications! Allowing your users to take advantage of creating a new cart directly in your user experience and navigating them checkout on walgreens.com! This API is in beta and we look forward to seeing it grow as the community adopts it. The documentation for this API is public now on the developer portal: Add To Cart API

We hope all this information is a nice gift for the upcoming holidays! Check back later for more information, and as always, if you have any comments, questions, and/or concerns please send an email to: apibizdev@walgreens.com

Happy Holidays,

The Walgreens API Team

Introducing: PICLIF, allowing you to keep memories alive

Tue, 12/13/2016 - 12:42 - Drew Schweinfurth

Walgreens is excited to introduce PICLIF, a new Photo Prints API integration. The app can be found on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and their Web site.

The PICLIF (https://piclif.com/) mobile app and Web site allows families and funeral homes to display pictures and memories of a loved one during a funeral service and to easily print the photos at Walgreens. PICLIF helps families bring together memories of their loved one by allowing them to crowdsource pictures from family and friends, building a timeline that can be viewed on any smartphone or computer.

"Our integration with Walgreens allows friends, family, and funeral service attendees to print pictures to Walgreens and keep them forever," said Mike Stafiej, Founder and President of PICLIF. "[PICLIF] chose to integrate with Walgreens for picture printing because of the trusted Walgreens brand and the convenience of local pickup. Additionally, it was clear to us that the Walgreens API and API support was far superior to all of the other photo-printing services that we reviewed and considered integrating with."

Keep the PICLIF application in mind for the next time you wish to keep memories alive. You can find them on the Apple App StoreGoogle Play Store, and their Web site.
